DNA Tests Needed for Lancasters of Massachusetts & Maine
Posted by: John Lancaster (ID *****0970) Date: December 26, 2010 at 22:26:42
  of 4554

According to some published information, this family is traced from Henry Lancaster (b. 1605, England), who died near Haverhill, Essex, MA, in 1705. Some members of the family reportedly moved into Maine in the 18th century, including Joseph Lancaster (1731-1826), who was married to Hannah Bubier and died in Woolwich, Sagadahoc, Maine.

The Lancaster Surname Project needs a Y-DNA test for someone in this line. If you are interested in having a test or in helping pay for a test for another person in this line, or in helping recruit a person from this line to be tested, please respond to this post or email Andrew Lancaster[], Nancy Mathews [], or John Lancaster [].

Thank you for your assistance as we seek to identify and more clearly define connections between various Lancaster lines and branches.

To see which Lancaster lines have been tested, check the Lancaster Surname Project Public Page:

Thanks for your assistance.
