Hi Nancy, from what I can tell you may be my only hope.
I am trying to trace our Lancaster line. My father is Winford Lee Lancaster born in Mo. in 1943, second youngest of 7. His parents were Robert Reese Lancaster born in Mo. 1904 and married to Eva Marie Summers born in Il. 1904. Robert's father was Oscar "Fritz" Lancaster born in Mo. abt. 1880, his mother was Martha ?, born abt. 1884. This is where I get stuck. I have a marriage cert. for Robert and Eva, showing consent from Martha Cook. My understanding is that Oscar died young and Martha remarried someone with the last name Cook. My dad believes that Robert had a half-brother John Cook. I also found a marriage cert. for Oscar and Martha from Scott county Mo. from 1901. Also a Census form 1900 Morey, Scott, Mo. Showing parents of Oscar as James A. Lancaster and Delitha A. (Telitha).
Here is my problem I am not able to confirm that Oscar is in fact Roberts father, nor that James A. or Alexander Lancaster was my Oscar's father.
Any help that you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. My dad is not able to tell me a whole lot since his grandfather (Oscar) died young. He did know that Oscar had a band with his brothers when they were young.
Thank you for any help,
Julia Lancaster
