Robert Lancaster of Surry Co, Virginia b1669

I am playing catch-up here and have a question for Nancy Mathews or anyone who is working with her...

I have seen her work up on Robert Lancaster Jr 1669-1739 and
the information for Robert Lancaster b 1702 (son of Samuel-robert jrs brother)

Here's my question__

the documentation provided for both Roberts is very much the same...but since Robert Jr lived in Surry Co and Robert son of Samuel lived in Isle of Wight..wouldn't the Robert being named in the Isle of Wight County records be the Robert that is the son of Samuel?

Isle of Wight and Southampton both started out as warrosquyoake Shire while Surry Co evolved from James City Shire and if I read the boundary lines correctly Surry and Isle of Wight are across the Blackwater Swamp from each other..so its possible that Robert Jr witnesses records in Isle of Wight Co but is it more probable that its the nephew?

I've not seen the actual records so is there any way to id which Robert is being referenced?

I'd appreciate any thoughts on this issue.....

Liz
