I am looking for information on Anne Lancaster, her siblings, and their parents. She was probably born around 1800, most likely in the vicinity of Ballygullen, Kilnahue, Gorey in County Wexford. She married John Kinsella, and they had at least four children: Mathew (year of birth unknown), Arthur(1824), Mary (1831) and Ellen (1841). Mary "with her brothers and other relatives"(Mathew stayed in Ireland, but Ellen came some years later)immigrated to New Orleans in 1849, and they took a boat up to St. Louis. There, she met Charles Dowd, and they married in 1853. One of the witnesses to their wedding was Mary Lancaster; she was also the godmother of one of their children. R. Lancaster was the godfather of one their sons. In the Dowd photo album, there are numerous photos of a Lancaster family. Most of these photos were taken in St. Louis. There are several photos of young girls with the following names: Susie Ennis Lancaster - 2; Ellen Rose - 7; Margaret Florance; Mary Alice - 9. From a search of the 1880 census, they appear to be the following family:
James Lancaster - born abt 1850 in Ireland, plumber
Margaret Lancaster - born April 1844 in Ireland (in the 1900 census Margaret said that she had immigrated to the US in 1845 at the age of one.)
Anna O - born April 1873 in Missouri
Mary A - born August 1875 in Missouri
Nellie R - born abt 1877 in Missouri (she apparently died before the 1900 census)
Maggie F - born November 1879 in Missouri
In the 1900 census, James appears to have died, and there are the following additional children:
Susan C. - born May 1882 in Missouri
Richard J. - born Jan 1886 in Missouri
I would like to know more about this family and find out what their relationship was to Anne Lancaster Kinsella and her daughter Mary Kinsella Dowd.
