Samuel L. Lancaster b.1835 TN

In looking for a great-great grandmother here in Michigan, I found a marriage record for Samuel L. Lancaster to a Louise Van Nocker Vedder. I believe this is the woman I am seeking, but I know her as Lois L. VanNocker Vedder. The marriage entry reads that Samuel L. Lancaster was 74 (b.1835, TN)son of J. A. Lancaster and Polly Fredrick. The date of marriage between Samuel L. Lancaster and Louise Van Nocker Vedder is 23 Aug 1909, and according to the information below she died in Sept 1909.

The Lancaster entry 1839 (from 2001 discussion) includes the following:

Lancaster, Samuel Sanders (1835- )
Son of Joshua A. and Mary "Polly" (Hopkins?) Lancaster
1st. Spouse: Mary "Polly" Hufines, d/o
2rd. Spouse: Elizabeth White, d/o
3rd. Spouse: Lois Veder of Michigan, d/o
(Lineage:Samuel>Joshua A. Sr>William Sr>Joshua>Jeremiah
1835*Vital Records

Are Samuel Sanders Lancaster and Samuel T. Lancaster the same person, as I believe? Does anyone have any idea as to why Samuel was in Bellevue, Eaton Co. Michigan? I'm curious as to how he met my gg-grandmother, a widow of 2 years in 1909.
