Your inquiry regarding the Lando family has caught my attention, and perhaps there are some areas of common interest. My grandmother was a Lando (actually the name was spelled Lando, Londo, and Landau -- with various people in the same family spelling it differently so as to avoind confusion). There were a number of different such families in Eastern Ohio (Bellaire) where I grew up. In all of these families, the names of Morris, Max, Louis, Abraham were quite common (of course, these names are common is ANY Jewish family). The earliest record that I have is of Landos who came to Bellaire in the 1880s. Nobody seems to know exactly where they came from, although Plock (Poland) has been mentioned several times. I believe that they entered the US through Baltimore. Any common interest here?
