Re: AUGUST LANDAU - ILLINOIS

In Reply to: Re: AUGUST LANDAU - ILLINOIS by Gerald E. Nelson of 67

On 7 December 2002, Gerald E. Nelson mentioned his ancestor Johannes Landau (1784-1867) who was married to Johannette Marie Pfennig, describing him as a “master baker and farmer,” living in Godelsheim, Kreis Waldeck, Germany. This individual is my gg grandfather, who owned and operated an inn there (Hof- und Gastwirtschaft). If anyone is specifically interested, I can supply some further information about his ancestors and descendants. E-mail will reach me at rescher@pitt.edu. The Landuas are now extinct in Goddelsheim, but survive in Hagen (Westphalia) in the grandchildren of my grandfather Wilhelm Landau’s brother August.
