Hi Niambe,
It is possible. The Lanfords owned quite a bit of land at one time. I haven't been able to find out much more but I'm still looking for some more information. Did you contact Phil Wheeler? Also, Edna Westmoreland is someone else that may have more infomation. She is sort of the Spartanburg Co, particularly Woodruff, historian. She has a lot of info on the Lanfords.
