John Duncan,

You may be right about William Lan(k)ford having a conection in Caroline Co. VA. Caroline Co. VA taxpayers list shows William Lanford 1 poll and 0 slaves, and Sarah Lanford with 0 poll and 1 slave in 1782. Where did James come from? Our family tradition is coming from England before the Revolutionary War. I have a fair amount of information on William's children I would be glad to share. Thanks.

Stan Lanford
