I have information on Henry LANFORD's wife, Elizabeth Bird WATSON. She was the dau of either Joab or James B. WATSON, two brothers who migrated from Albemarle Co., VA to Madison Co., AL before 1819. Henry's brother William LANFORD married James' dau Martha Ann WATSON. James and Joab's father, John "Hightop" WATSON, died 1833 in Albemarle Co., VA. They are both found on the 1830 census there, before moving on... I think Joab went to Tennessee (possibly where brother William was living), and James B. WATSON is found in Talladega Co., AL 1840. Both brothers then migrated to Phillips Co., AR about 1844. James died in 1848, leaving wife Sarah CLEVELAND Watson and several children appearing on 1850 census. Joab appears on 1850 census, but he died in 1852. Joab had 15 children, and James had at least eight - but I cannot reliably assign many of the known children to the proper father. Perhaps the details of some of the Madison Co., AL marriage records might help. I have been unable to locate a will for either James or Joab in Phillips Co., AR - but I have only spoken with clerks at the County Clerks Office, and not inspected the records myself.
I have additional details if you are interested. Would like more info on the LANFORDs.
