Deborah,
Sorry for the dalay. John Lanford was the son of William Lanford of Louisa Co VA. John was born about 1780 and died in Madison Co AL on Oct.16,1860. He married Polly F. Perkins of Louisa Co in Louisa Co on Dec. 9, 1803. By the 1820 census, John and Polly had 2 male children and 5 female children in his household. John had brothers named Robert, James, Richard, and William, JR. Robert moved from VA to GA and on to Madison Co AL by 1818 and mentions his brothers James, John, and sister Sarah Lanford Humphries in his will in Madison Co. My records show the children of John and Polly are John D, Nancy, Susan S., Mertha, William L., Louisa, and James L. The last 2 were born in AL about 1826 and 1829. I have not found any Edwards connection to the Lanford's in Loisa Co. Richard died in Louisa CO in 1819 and was my ancestor.
