Recently I found this same Thomas Lanigan and his wife Anne (Kirwan) and their daughter Ellen in the 1880 U.S. Census. They are shown living in Bloomington, Clinton County, Ohio. This was near where Anne's brother had been farming before he moved his family to Missouri then to Nebraska.

Both Thomas and Anne are shown age 56 (born about 1823-24) and Ellen is shown age 13 (born about 1866-67). All three were born in Ireland.
