Hello,

I'm Joyce Lanigan from Bluebell, Dublin! My grandfather was William Lanigan from Bluebell. I will check with my father if he knows of a James Lanigan, but I can give you a bit of background.

Bluebell had a number of textile and paper mills and the Bluebell Lanigan's were all weavers. As far as I know there were two branches of the family - one (my branch) that all ended up working for the Railway and another that became funeral directors. There are still lot's of Lanigan's in Inchicore (which is right next to Bluebell) and historically Lanigan's are buried at Goldenbridge Graveyard.

I'll I hear back from you I will send more information, but we are definitely related!

Cheers,

Joyce
