Your William Lansdales, father and son may be the ones that show up on the 1840 Lowndes Co. Ala. Census pg. 245. William Jr is just married. 20 years old with his wife being 15-20 years of age. They have 2 slaves and are in agriculture.
6 houses down is William Lansdale with 1m 20-30, 2 f under 5, 2 f 5-10, 1 f 15-20, no slaves. 1 person in agriculture. (note: this second William may be a son or brother of the J. Lansdale next door.
William Lansdale the son of Isaac Lansdale of Delaware b. ca. 1800 M1 unknown M2 on 31 Jan. 1839 Elizabeth Shillings Marr. # 162 Hinds Co. Miss. This family is in Hinds Co. Ms 1840 (census page 207) 9 houses below his brother Isaac.
In 1850 they are in Scott Co. Miss (census page 280 )
The only other William of the time period that I am aware of in the South is William M. Lansdale m. Elizabeth A. ___. He and his family were in Holmes Co., Ms. in 1840 (census page 253) and 1850 (pg. 247)
This family came from Kentucky to Mississippi in 1839.
Hope this gives you some clues to work on
Sherry Wilson Manuel
