Hi Liz,

In inherited a geneology book on the Lantrip Family including Lanthrip and Landtroop from my Great-Aunt. I'm afraid it has no further information beyond 1900 but here is the information that I was able to look up for you on
John Dawson Lantroop (Stith) born ca. 9 Jan. 1842 in Limestone Co., AL; died 24 Dec. 1914, bur. Soper, (Choctaw) Oklahoma; married on 31 Aug. 1862 by M. Askew in Lauderdale Co.; (Lauderdale MB 3:234) to Nancy Rebecca Ellis born 15 Oct. 1841 in AL; died 12 July 1919, bur. Soper, OK.

In 1880 the family is still in Lauderdale Co., AL and John's sister Mary is living with them.

John and Nancy went to Hopkins Co., TX ca 1890. In 1903 John and Nancy and four of their children and their spouses moved to Indian Territory (now Oklahoma). In 1900 they are in Hopkins Co., TX and a cousin Milton Beard born Jan. 1830 is living with the family.

John Landtroop enlisted 24 December 1861 in Florence, AL with S. A. Weakley for 12 months in Co. E. 27 Regt6. Alabama Infantry (Confederate). There are two Comapny Muster Rolls on file listing John Landtroop; one for July and Aug. 1863, and the other for Sept. and Oct. 1863. Both give the following information: "Last paid Oct. 31,1862 by Capt Mcluer", and under "Remarks": Deserted April 20, 1863 at Mcdowls Landing, AL."

children (born in Lauderdale Co., AL)
i. Edna b. ca. 1864 d. in infancy
ii. Martha "Mattie" b. ca. 1866; m. in Texas to Jason Trobaugh. Mattie and Jason went to Indian Territory in 1903. The 1870 census show Margaret age 4.
iii. Lou b. m. in Texas to Charlie butlyer. Lou and Charlie also went to Indian Territoy in 1903.
iv. Mozella b. ca. 1869 (the 1870 census shows Nancy age 8 monthes); d. in Texas; m. Robert Richards.
v. Thomas Newton b. ca. 1862/73.
vi. Susan b. ca. 1875.
vii. Edward Luther b. ca. Feb. 1878. He moved to the Indian Territory in 1903. He was unmattied at the time. He had no children.

The 1860 census for Lauderdale Co., AL lists John's children and Edney 6, Margaret 4, Nancy 8/12. The 1880 census lists children Martha 18, Mosella 10, Thomas 7, Susan 5, Luther 3. The 1900 Hopkins Co, TX census lists Luther E. 22, b. Feb. 1878; Maggie L. 19 b. Jan. 1881.
