Here is what I have on this family.
John Lappin, born in Ireland abt 1772 and Anne, born in Ireland abt 1794 are found in Marshall Co., Virginia in 1850 census. The family incluees John, Anne and then John 23 and Rachel 17.The children born in PA.
For their children I have Alexander H., died March 20, 1844 in Washington Co., Maryland; Mary Ann, born abt1823 who married John Bowers; John B. who was born abt1827 and wed Ann.John died after August 31, 1883; Rachel Sylvina Lappin born March 1837 who wed William C. Craft. She died June 2, 1907 in Wood Co., Oklahoma; Abraham born abt1834 in Virginia.
Now Alexander H. Lappon had at least 6 kids. One unnamed girl; Catherine who wed Adam Bean; Mary who wed a Colliflower; Alexnader H. born abtFebruary 7, 1838 in Maryland and died October 28, 1876 in Ohio and buried in Beamsville Cemetery, Richland Township, Drake Co., OH; William P. born abt1841 and died August 1, 1864 in Andersonville Prison in Georgia; Silas Colliflower born abt 1835 in Maryland and died December 29, 1871 in Des Moines.Silas wed Martha Ann Floyd (she had 3 husbands after him) in Van Buren Township, Dark Co., Ohio and they had two childrenLilly B. Lappin born January 11, 1863 and William W. Lappin born April 29, 1866.These last two probably died in Cowley Co., Kansas.
This is not my Lappin family and most information came from a civil war pension file and it took me forever to try and straighten it out.e-mail is [email protected]
