Hi Rieta, now I have to retract what I said. It seemed to fit that Elizabeth was the d/of Seth, but I do have in my files that she was married to a George Hickman. I can't find any info on him at all, and so I started wondering if someone had mistaken his surname Hickman for Killinbeck somehow. But I do have the two different Elizabeth's now in 2 places for the 1881 census so I am back to square one with her. I feel strongly that she is somehow related however to the Ontario Laraby's that I have in my files. Is everyone sure that her surname was Laraby and not Laraway by any chance?

Elizabeth Laraby wife of George Killenbeck was in Dummer in Peterborough County for the 1881 census while the other Elizabeth wife of George Hickman was in Kennebec, Frontenac County for the 1881 census. I cannot find the Hickman's past that however, so this is very odd.

Did you ever figure out whose son Richard Killenbeck was? He is on the 1881 census with William and Hannah in Barrie Ontario. I think that the 10 year old Daniel who is in home of William and Hannah was their grandson William Daniel Killenbeck who was the son of Charles Killenbeck and his first wife Sophia- I am not clear on her maiden name- do you know what it was? was it Andress and she was a sister to Laura Andress who married James Killenbeck?

Charles was the eldest son of William and Hannah- I think his death reg. states his parents to be so. There are discrepancies about the date of birth for Charles but he must have been born about 1840 and not 1831 as some records seem to indicate. In 1851 he was 11 years old. I have the info from the 1851 census for William and hannah plus George and Elizabeth who are side by side in Lansdowne. If anyone wants me to copy that census info here, just holler. I have it in my files.

So far I have identified four children for Charles Killenebeck and first wife Sophia but I will bet there were more. I have five children for him and second wife Cynthia Hetherington. Do you know names of all of his children by the two women? Charles married Cynthia Hetherington on Feb. 25, 1890 at Clarendon in Frontenac County, the daughter of James Hetherington and Sarah Ann Vankoughnet- I have to find out whose daughter Sarah was because I have an extensive Vankoughnet file also.

Thanks for your help Rieta, I am not a Killenbeck desc. but was trying to figure out where a gal and her family had gone from Kennebec after 1901....Cora Monds ended up marrying James Shaw in Leeds County whose parents were Christopher Thomas Shaw and Mary Killenebeck. I knew I had seen Killenebeck's in Frontenac County so I wondered what the connections were between the families and the two counties. I am working with a gal who has been trying for many years to figure out whatever hap. to Cora's parents (Glen or Glennie Monds and Mahala Clapper) who are her ancestors. Last accounted for in November 1919 with Cora trying to cross the border into the USA to go to see a married daughter and son-in-law and denied.
