I have the Abram Lard of the 1850 census of Smith Co. as the son of Jesse and Mary Edwards Lard. They had 3 sons: Abraham, b. 1821, Thomas b. 1825, and Victor b. 1827.
1850 Census Scott Co MS (counted in both counties??)
Abraham, (29), and wife, Rachel, (28) and 4 children: Elyah (8), Silas (6), Calpernia (4) and Julia (2); all born in MS are listed. Rachel's father Elyah Richardson (67) and James Eulin (10) are living with them.
The road to where Thomas Lard lived (and I assume Abraham) starts in Scott Co. and dead ends in Smith Co.
Abraham Laird m. Rachel Richardson
Some genealogists show this Abraham as the youngest son of Josiah Lard. Sr. The Richardson book lists him as son of Jesse based in part on an interview with Sylvanus Laird, son of Abraham and Rachel Laird.
