In case u guys r still out there. I am of a similar opinion in regard to the DeMoss line - only I think perhaps we need to consider, in the case of French Huguenot ancestors, that they may have migrated into England with William of Orange around 1688. I have been hearing our family's Holland theory for awhile, and if there is anything to that at all, and they were in Holland/Netherlands/Low Countries for some period of time, and irked enough over religious persecution, they would have been somewhat likely to have flocked to William's armies - possibly especially in the case of titled/petit nobility French families (like the L'Argent famiy!). Anyway, that is the direction my research has taken. Incidentally, when I was at Canterbury Cathedral I saw a listing of Huguenots who met in the crypt there and it had the name Dumas on it. I didn't have the presence of mind to write down all the names. Just a thought.
