Hi, I am part of a group of researchers who are trying to collect info on all the War of 1812 & the Civil War Veteran's of Monroe Co.
One of our veterans is Paul La Rock. Please check the following information for accuracy and fill in the blanks for info we are missing
Paul La Rock = b. December 28, 1843 at Dundee, Canada
Son of:
Pre War experience
Date of enlistment: February 1, 1865 at Malone, NY into the 26th Regt. NY Cavalry, Co. I as a private.He was mustered out July 3, 1865 at Ogdensburgh, NY
He m. July 17, 1869 at Westville, Framkly Co. NY to Sarah Berry, b. May 28, 1854 at Wsstville, NY; d. October 18, 1945 at Sparta, Monroe Co.,WI
Daughter of:
Chilren: Henry; Martha M. Ada M. Sarah B. Nellie; John
He was a farm laborer at Sparta Township, Monroe Co., WI in 1870 & 1900 & aretired farmer at Sparta, WI IN 1910
D. APRIL 15, 1924 at Sparta, Monroe Co., WI & buried at Mt. HOPE cEMETERY AT SPARTA
If you have any anecdotes of this man's life before the war They would be welcome.
We are fortunate to have funding for our book and can include photos and all letters/diaries, etc. that pertain to the War.
If you have any info on him, or if you believe that any info I sent you is incorrect, please let me know. Pictures, etc would be very welcome.
