WI-Green Bay Laroque/LaRock/Laroche

Can anyone help me with several interesting problems? I have a GGGrandmother, Ursula Laroque (although this surname has been spelled several ways, as LaRock/Laroche/etc.)by other family members and other documents. Has anyone else with the Laroche surname come across this same problem and do others believe we are "one and the same" and the name has been just changed accidentally on written documents or intentionally changed by ancestors? If so what would be "THE" correct French surname for this family?
Also, my GGGrandmother, Ursula Laroque, from the Green Bay, Wisconsin area was supposed to be 1/2 Chippewa or Menominee Indian. Would anyone have information about this or just how to prove this? Ursula was married to Michael Douville, but I do not know who her parents are, as yet. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Jeanne
