Hi,I too was suprised to find that Larrabee was not included in the listing of Huguenot surnames. I would also like to find some definitive proof that we are eligible. I have a small booklet, done partially from my grandmother's research in the 1930s, which names us Huguenot. Do you have an actual document for the birth of Stephen 1 in Pau ?
Years ago I ran across an article about the French King who granted freedom of religion to the Huguenots. It suggested that there was a Huguenot minister named Stephen Larrabee in Gave de Pau who packed up his whole pasish and immigrated to Deleware in the early 1600s. As de la War established his colony with religious freedom, that made sense to me. Just when I had decided to copy the document, my IP hic-upped and I lost the site. I have never been able to find it again.
I am a 10th generation descendent from Stephen who died on Jewell Island in Maine. I'd love to compare notes on the earliest generations.
