This is an obituary for my old next door neighbor. A wonderful generous man, who had a special place in my families heart.

29 May 1981

ELMER LARSON

Elmer Larson, 82, of Genoa died Friday at Clarkson Hospital, Omaha.

Services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday at First Confregational Church, Genoa, with the Rev. Dan Kern officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 today at Hasch-patrick Chapel and 12 until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Larson, son of Olaf and johanna (Person) Larson was born Oct. 26, 1898 in rural Platte County and attened Genoa Public Schools.

A life-long resident of the Genoa area, he retired as a 15-year employee of Loup Public Power District in November 1963. Earlier, he farmed in the Genoa area and was employed at Farmers Store Produce.

A veteran of WWII, he served in Company C, 65th Medical Regiment. He was a memberof Edward H. Larson Post 144 and a past member of Genoa Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include 22 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Arthur, York, Edward H.,Frank and Oscar; 5 sisters, Mrs Clarence (Ethel) Anderson, Mrs. Howard (Minnie) Christman, Mrs. William (Emma) Gregg, Mrs. Nels (Delia) Skoog and Mrs. Dave (Nettie) Hossack.
