I was looking up some of my relatives on this website when I saw your message about Elbert Lucas Lash. I am his granddaughter. His father Robert Lucas Lash was a plumbing contractor in the metro area of Washington D.C.. Granddaddy eventually started working for the Army and Air Force Motion Picture Service as a sound engineer. He married my grandmother Mary Louise Bryan of Columbus, Georgia in July of 1941. They had two children; Jacqueline Jane born August of 1942 and my father, Bryan Jeffery, born October of 1945. My grandmother died of a heart attack in January of 1974. Granddaddy remarried a woman named Jeanne who was living in Washington, D.C.. They moved to Tallahassee, FL in the late 70's. In 1978 my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer. He died on August 5, 1988. He was quite a character and we all miss him terribly. He was a wonderful father to my father and aunt and a great grandfather to his six grandchildren. We are not real sure how he got the nickname Pete, but that was what everyone called him. I am very curious about your inquiry and would like to know more about your how you knew him. I hope that you will contact me very soon and tell me what you know about him. You can reach me at my father's house. His e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org. I know that both me and my father would appreciate you contacting us. I really hope to hear from you soon.
