Dear Jamie,
I'm sorry that the information that I have for you, is that this is the wrong family.I do think that it's an incredible coincidence that you located a branch of my family, and therefore I know something useful!
The Isaac and Bessie Lasky and family that you found in Chicago in the 1920 census are an older couple than you're looking for. This Bessie was born about 1865, in Russia, (in an area that is now part of Poland), and died on Aug. 4, 1940.Her only husband was Isaac Lasky.
Sorry that this lead didn't work out.One place that I've found to look that has helped me a lot, is naturalization papers. The first part of the process is a Declaration of Intention, the secornd part is the Petition for Naturalization, and the third part is when the judge actually grants (or denies) citizenship.Note that not all people go through the process though, and women less than men.People usually get naturalized (after 1906) in the nearest Federal Court. This would be one avenue that I'd look at.
Also, have you looked at EIDB (Ellis Island) to see if you can find them entering the country?
Good luck in your search, and let me know what you find.We may end up with relatives in common yet!
