Mr. Murphy: I think part of the confusion about this Maude (or Mary Polly as corrected in your most recent message) is the similarity of names-- Marie (Mary) and Samuel. The first child of Jean Latourrette (born ca 1651 in Osse, Bearn) and Marie Mercereau (born 1670 in Moise or in French Moeze, Saintonge), married July 16, 1693 in the French Church of New York (L'Eglise Francaise du Saint Esprit) was a Marie (called Mary) born Sept 23, 1693 and baptized Dec 6, 1693 in the records of the church entered by Pastor Pierre Peiret. She married a Samuel Broome and they had a grandson by the name of John Broome who was born in 1738. He was very active in the Revolution and was a Lt Governor of NY. Broome County NY and Broome St in NYC are named after this John Broome.
If I remember corectly, this Maude business appears on Ancestry.com. When you hear from Mr. Hoadley maybe one of one could correct the misleading entry and dates etc-- or just get it deleted.
I think you are probably now correct, but Mr. Hoadley is much more of an expert on the Latourette genealogy in America than I am.
Best wishesJohn
