Hi Elizabeth, Please bear with me,this is my first venture
on the net.
My great-great-grandfather James Latty of Sth.Petherton,
together with his brother Robert & their families arrived
in Sydney, Australia in 1857. They were sons of Robert Latty, brother of William of Bridport, Dorset (born Sth Petherton).Also John, a son of William arrived in Tasmania, in 1842, aged 20 years.
I have births, marriages and deaths for generations of Sth Petherton Lattys dating back to 1700's, although not fully compiled as yet. However I may be of help to you.
