DIED
At the residence of Mr. Kuhn, on Sunday night, January 16th, Mrs. Catherine Laub, mother of Mr. H. C. Laub, in her seventy-sixth year of age, of general debility and old age.
Mrs. Laub was born on the first day of January 1800 – a first child of the nineteenth century. She became a member of the church in 1853, upwards of fifty years age and remained faithful to the end.She was left a widow with nine children, and had a hard struggle to bring them up.The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 1 o’clock p. m. by the Rev. Mr. Fagily, assisted by the sisters Nind and Prescott. The funeral was largely attended—the church being filled, and some twenty carriages followed the hearse to the grave. The services were impressive, and Mrs. Prescott’s testimony at Mrs. Laub’s last experiences was most affecting.
