On my grandfather's birthcertificate (John Conrad Laube born 1916)is states that his parents were from Russia - this could be debatable - also, he was born in Michigan and given the name John or Johann. There could be some sort of relationship with your ancestors. Seeing that the name is the same in spelling and the Michigan connection.
