John LAUB / LAUBE / LAUBEN 1780 Berks

Dear LAUB seekers, I am posting to Laube also as the name appears variously in different documents.

Within the past year I have identified that my ancestor, John LAUB family, probably resided in Greenwich Twp., Berks Co., PA.

This is what we have verified: Elizabeth LAUB, born 1778, was the daughter of John LAUB and Margaret RURE/RUHR(?) [This is only a question of how Margaret's surname is spelled.] Elizabeth married Adam KLINE 03 June 1827 at St. Pauls Church (Most Blessed Sacrament Church), Bally, Berks Co., PA. The witnesses were Polly ADAM and Elias BROGLEY. Perhaps Adam and Elizabeth converted to the Catholic religion after some of their children were born and baptized at New Bethel Zion Church.

Below must be Baptismal records from New Bethel Zion Church, as William has another (probably conditional) Baptismal record at St. Pauls Church, as do David, and Elizabeth.

"no name" child of Adam and Elizabeth KLEIN, bap. 3-29-1818, sponsors are
Johann LAUB and Catharine SIEGFRIED.

Wilhelm ,son of Adam and Elizabeth KLEIN, b. 11-19-1819, bap. 5-22-1820,
sponsors: Johan DRESSLER and Catharine LAUB.

Elizabeth daughter of Adam and Elizabeth KLINE, b. 6-10-1821, bap.
2-24-1822, sponsors are Johann SAUL and Elizabeth.

David son of Adam and Elizabeth KLINE, b. 4-27-1823, bap. 12-14-1823,
sponsors are David DORNMEYER and Regina

Maria, daugter of Adam and Elizabeth KLEIN, b. 3-18-1825, bap. 5-29-1825,
sponsors are Peter JACOBY and Margaretha.

In Berks Co., Census of 1790 are a Michael LAUB and John LAUB.

I have heard mentioned a book about Michael LAUB, written by Harlan LAUB. Have any of you located it at the LDS FHC? Could you give me the publication data? Is it still in print? Thanks for any information.

Could each of you with Berks Co., PA connections give us a LAUB update?
