The name of Lauderbaugh

My last name is Lauderbaugh. Is there a family tie and just a spelling variation? I was told that my family came to america from hesse in the revolutionary war. They were cinscripted soldiers for king george and fought against the Americans as greencoats. They then settled in Pennsylvania and eventually a branch moved to Minnesota. Let me know if there is any connection or if any of this sounds familiar.
