Thanks for message. Guess you're right. Seems a bit of a coincidence doesnt it !
Looking through the bit of family history I have at the moment a lot of the same names keep cropping up. Must be a link there somewhere. One thing I know for sure is that my great grandfather (Richard James) was a half brother to the Laughton's in Scarborough, (England) one of which included a certain Charles. Who I beleive became quite well known ! There seems to be mention of our family name in quite a few states in America mainly the north east area. Do you have any knowledge re origins of early settlers from UK. Perhaps the famous (and much maligned) John Knox Laughton's family was one of these early settlers.
