JOHN LAUGHTON, THE SON OF JOHN AND LYDIA LAUGHTON. WAS BORN JUNE 6TH 1790 AT NORRIDGEWOCK, MAINE AND WAS STILL LIVING WHEN THE 1850 FEDERAL CENSUS WAS TAKEN.

JOHN MARRIED IN 1811 AT NORRIDGEWOCK TO AMATA GREENLEAF, THE DAUGHTER OF JOSHUA AND HANNAH(WILLIAMSON) GREENLEAF. AMATA WAS BORN SEPTEMBER 1, 1791 AT MERCER, MAINE; SHE DIED AUGUST 31, 1840 AT NEW SHARON, MAINE. THEY HAD SIX CHILDREN.

JOHN LAUGHTON'S SECOND WIFE WAS RHODA-------, SHE DIED AT AGE 54 IN NEW SHARON, MAINE ON DECEMBER 16, 1858.
