Laugier-Arnaud family of Jausier, France/to U.S. then Mexico
According to a French web site, Jacques Arnaud (1781-1828) and his brothers Domenica and Marc-Antoine opened a fabric store in Mexico City about 1820.It may have been called Mow Fabricas de Francia.
In Jausier, France the Laugier-Arnaud family was quite powerful and served as bankers, traders of silk, lawyers, etc.Several emigrated from the Ubaye valley near the Alps and settled in Mexico where they became known as "barcelonnettes".Though some adopted dual nationality (France and Mexico) they maintained their French culture.
Interested in learning about the Laugier individuals that went to Mexico to live and work.
