I am looking for any information on Joseph LaVia or his next-of-kin. Sgt. LaVia was a son of Mrs. Fannie LaVia (maiden name unknown), who lived at 2039 Hughes Ave. in New York in 1943.

During the Second World War Mr. LaVia served as a tailgunner on the USAAF B-17 bomber #42-3488. His aircraft crashed in The Netherlands on December 11, 1943. Joe LaVia spend the rest of the War as a prisoner-of-war in the PoW-camp Stalag XVIIb near Krems in Austria.
