CHARLES F. LAW
JULY 16, 1925
Charles F. Law, father of Dr. C.A. Law, of Julesburg, was kicked by a horse at the Lew Turner farm two miles west of Sedgwick, early Monday morning of this week and died from the injury before medical help could reach him. Mr. Law had gone to the barn and in some way the horse kicked him in the stomach. He was able to walk to the house and tell the Turners what had happened, but complained of being very short of breath. He was helped to a bed and a doctor was summoned at once but he passed away before help could reachhim.
Mr. Law, who had been employed at the Turner farm since the first of April, was well known to Julesburg people, having resided in this community a great many years and having many relatives here. The body was taken to the home of his son, Dr. Law, in Julesburg, where the funeral was held today (Thursday). The body was laid to rest in the Chappell cemetery beside the body of his wife who passed away in
April 1896. The services were conducted by the Rev. Leslie Tuck, pastor of the First Congregational church here.
Charles Frederick Law was born March 3, 1861, at Chatsworth, Ill., and passed away July 6, 1925, at Sedgwick, Colo. He lived in Illinois, the state of his birth, until he grew to manhood. In July 1885 he was married to Miss Minnie Hallam and to them six children were born, three sons and three daughters. A son and daughter passed away in infancy and two daughters, Mrs. Jessie Dundore, of Yakima, Wash., Mrs. Lily Weiremiller, of Goodlalnd, Ind., and two sons, Ervin Law, of Piper city, Ill., and Dr. Chester Law, of Julesburg, still live to mourn their father's passing. He also leaves five sisters and two brothers. They are: Miss Sophis Law and Mrs. John Pearson, of Piper City, Ill.; Mrs. James Piercy, of Julesburg, Mrs. Ernest Fairchild, of New York; Mrs. David O'Neal, of Denver; Mrs. James Law, of Julesburg, and Mrs. George Law, of Sedgwick.
Mr. Law came with his family to Colorado in 1886 and has since resided here most of the time.
