Hi Susan,
Good to hear from you again. If you google "nls maps" and follow the links to "ordnance survey maps 1847-1961" and "six-inch to the mile - 1st edition 1843 - 1882" followed by "as a seemless zoomable overlay - - " you will find an excellent map of Scotland. If you zoom in to Aberdeen City on the coast and then track northwest through Newhills, Kinellar, Kemnay etc. you will come eventually to Auchindoir and Kearn. The only village of size in the parish is Lumsden. If you come about 1 mile south of Lumsden you will find Howmill and the neighbouring croft/farm Edinbanchory.
I have John LAW and Elizabeth LAW m 1793 Newhills (Elizabeth's parish).Children:- John baptised 1793 Hazelhead, Newhills and Howmill, Auchindoir; (then a gap);Helen bapt.1799 Howmill; Dorathie bapt. 1803 Edinbanchory; William bapt.1806 Edinbanchory; Elizabeth bapt. 1812 Edinbanchory.
Regards, Will
