Hi Christine,
You replied to me ages ago but I couldnt get anywhere with the information.
I was wrong about Henry's birth. He was born in Portsmouth, was a customs clerk and obviously met and married Emma Silverlock in Hampshire. On their wedding certificate at St Mary's Portsea, John was described as a Gent and apart from Emma's father, the other two witnesses were Mary Greenlands and Fanny Ford.
