Gary: my father was Carl Lawhead from Windber, Pa. His brothers and sisters: Alvin, James, Katherine, Lorna, Harvey, John, Claude, Casey, plus six more that I can look up. My grandfather was Samuel Lawhead. He had a livery stable in Windber and the Yellow Cab Taxi Company in Johnstown.
I believe Alvin had a family he abandoned and began a new family in Ohio. My mother, Beatrice, and my father, Carl, and I used to take clothes to the abandoned family when they lived in a log cabin in Bedford County. They were very poor. Jim Lawhead moved to Ohio, the Columbus area. Harvey moved to Florida and had a mica mine. Lorna (Lawhead) Johnson lived in Johnstown and just recently passed away. Katherine (Senior) Lawhead lived all her life in Windber and also recently died. John Lawhead lived in Windber and passed away many years ago. I have one sister, Harriet Sura, who lives in Colorado. My brother Richard Lawhead lived in Cape Coral, Fl. and died of cancer three years ago. He had eight children - five boys, so the Lawhead name will continue.
