Nancy, I did post a message, but I didn't know that you had not received it.
My primary interest is the Scott Family.David Lawhead married Mary Louise Scott in Rock Island Co.Il. about 1868.
She is the daughter of William Scott and his wife Elizabeth Scott(Scott is her maiden name as well.)

I don't have the 1870 census for the County.I do have the 1880 census for the USA with the index.
I was able to pull up the date of David and M Louise date of marriage on the Rock Island Website.
The early research was done (1850 and 1860 census) was done by another member of the family and passed on to me.
The Scott family that I know is a direct decendant of Josiah Scott, the younger brother of Mary Louise.
A member of this family was going to check on Cemetery records of that County today. she is in her 80's.
I was in Rock Island this Summer and we toured the cemeteries for the Scott's and Stevens and Hillier families.
It wasn't until I returned home and was given a copy of Wm Scott's Will that I started my search for the other siblings of Josiah Scott.
I will be looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Louise
