My great grandfather is a Lawhead and he might be Alvin or Jim Lawhead. No good feelings for him, we knew him as "Dad" Lawhead. He lived in Logan, Ohio (90mi S of Columbus), and had 2 daughters, Elva and Laura. Elva was my grandmother, she passed away on New Year's day 2006 at 92 years old, sharp minded and rough tempered. Elva remembered the Lawhead family owning the Yellow Cab company Johnstown, PA. She also remembered a story of a flood in Johnstown, and a coal slag heap slide. "Dad" was meaner than a rattlesnake and his wife Dora met an untimely death with a head injury. Murky story, rumors. Then "Dad" kicked Elva and Laura out and a woman name Avrel moved in. "Dad" Lawhead was said to have some American Indian in his heritage. Heard anything like this?
