Marion Anderson was my great-great-grandfather by way of Melvin's (AKA: Ray) son Wilbur (Wilbur my grandfather). It seems that Henry's last name was recorded as both "Lawhead" and Laughead, he died of disease Oct. 31, 1863, Devalls' Bluff, Ark, as one of the 40th regiment of the Iowa volunteer infantry. Henry was the son of William Laughead and Elizabeth Jennings. I believe William was the son of Benjamin Laughead and Agnes Miller. Benjamin fought in the Revolutionary War. He was also an elder in Presbytery Church in Pennsylvania and helped to organize the Presbytery of Redstone. I believe there may have been another spelling change for this generation or the generation before from Loughead to Laughead.
