Doris, I have a confederate Pension papers for Rufus R. Reid, who was a brother to Mary E. Reid/Reed, who married David M. Wood. Mary and David lived in Hood County, and Rufus Reid lived in Donley County,TX. In the pension papers there is a deposition of Amzi Lawing who states that he lives near Arlington, Tarrant County. and he is 59 years old
and he has known Rufus R. Reid all his life.Amzi also states that Rufus R. Reid enlisted in the service in Marshall County,AL.The Reid/Reed family came to Al. from GA., but had lived along time in Lincoln County, NC. were there where Lawing's also living there. Is this the same Lawing family.
