Michael's right in his post. According to Chip Hunnicut (a descendent of Jean Killian) William Lawing came to Pennsylvania in 1748 at age 18, from Wales (most were either Presbyterian or Baptist). We know he received land grants in North Carolina in 1761 and moved there,along with his inlaws the Killian family...

Also, Andreas Killian might have been Lutheran (we know he came from the Palatinate in Germany which was predominantly Lutheran) but since the only church around the Catawba River area was Presbyterian, he might've switched just to belong...
