Michael there does not appear to be an obvious connection. However, in case you get information from other sources below is more information I have on Michael.

Michael Lawler was born 1856 in Paulstown, County Kilkenny, Ireland, and died 09 January 1885 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He married Margaret McCarthy 04 February 1879 in Toowoomba Court House, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, daughter of Laurence McCarthy and Mary Clancy. She was born Abt. 1858 in Ennistymon, County Clare, Ireland, and died 11 September 1919 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Michael arrived in Australia aboard the Windsor Castle. The Windsor Castle sailed from London on March 10, 1876 and arrived in Brisbane June 21, 1876.

Michael was a waiter in Brisbane at the time of his marriage.

Michael and Margaret had four children. The first, Michael, was born in November but died three months later of Atrophy. At the time of his death, the family lived in Ruff Street, Toowoomba, Australia. Michael was a gardener. Mary Bridget, their second child, was born in 1881 and Patrick Joseph, their third child, was born in 1882. The fourth child, Michael Joseph, was born in 1885 after the death of his father.

Michael drowned in the Brisbane River on January 9, 1885. At the time of his death, he was 29 years of age and a waiter. He is buried in the Toowong Cemetery, Brisbane Queensland Australia in an area known as the hospital site. There are no marked graves in this area, just an open grassed area.

Michael had spent 9 years in the colony.

Margaret later remarried a Michael Kenny. She died 11th September 1919 aged 61 years and Michael Kenny died 26th May 1927 aged 83 years. Both are buried in Toowong Cemetery, Brisbane Queensland Australia
