There is a Lawlor obituary in the German language paper, Banner und Volksfreund from Oct. 13, 1869 in Milwaukee Wisconsin. The German newspapers are on a database available at the Milwaukee Co. Library. Milwaukee German Newspapers 1844- 1930 is on Facebook which is where I read the translated obituary on Dec 10, 2010.

The transcription is: "An old man died - Last Saturday James Lawler died in Oak Creek, Milwaukee County, at the great age of one hundred and four years, a resident of our area since 1848. The deceased was born in November 1765 in Queen's County, Ireland, participated in the Irish revolutionary struggle in 1798 and after the unfortunate outcome, emigrated to America. The deceased was buried at St. Stephen's Cemetery in the Town of Lake, and was the father of former school superintendent of the district, Wm. Lawler."

The story is also covered in the Milwaukee Sentinel on the same date October 13, 1869. “Death of Centenarian- Mr. James Lawlor died in Oak Creek on Saturday, at the advance age of one hundred and four years. He was the father of William Lawlor, Esq., late District Superintendent of Schools.”

I have no connection or information about the Lawlor family.
