General Joseph O'Lawlor: descendants in Spain
Posted by: JUAN LUIS FERNANDEZ MONTES LLORD (ID *****4618) Date: June 23, 2011 at 04:12:50

My mother was Josefa Llord Sánchez.
Her father was Carlos Llord O'Lawlor who let some handwritten papers where I have learnt that his mother was Candelaria O'Lawlor Sanz, and
His father was Joseph O'Lawlor Caballero, and finally...

His father was Joseph O'Lawlor O'Brennan. Born in Kildare (Ireland) in 1772 and died in Granada (Spain) in 1850. Escaping from British religious disputes against Catholics he went with his brother to Spain and both joined the Spanish Military Academy of Artillery. He fought against French tropes with General Ricardos in Rosellón. Became assistant of General Wellington and succeeded against Napoleon. He became Militar Governor of Granada.
Married with Dionisia Caballero Drake and had 6 children: José, Dionisia, Carmen, Concepción, Fernando, Encarnación, Elena, and Juan.

My mother, Josefa her father Carlos and me, we are from Madrid (Spain). The name O'Lawlor has completely disappeared in Spain but all people named Llord which is a very rare name, are also descendants of O'Lawlor.
I apologize for my bad English...
