Gary, I came across this post and was astounded! I have just concluded that my Lawlor ancestors came from Clonaheen, put Clonaheen and Lawlor in Google and found this astonishing connection. A John Lawlor appears at Clonaheen in the 1823 Tithe Apploplement Books, and a James appears there in the 1850 Griffiths Index. I assume one is the son of the other. My ancestor (b Rosenallis 1841) was John Lawlor, who gives his father as James, a farmer. As James of Clonaheen is the only Lawlor on a farm in Rosenallis, I think he is my guy.

Is it possible to get a copy of the birth certificate? There is an old family tradition that my family to also related to the Lalors of Tenakil and this may help.

One small discrepency - your email says Joseph Lalor was born in Clonaheen, Laois but the message from JUAN LUIS FERNANDEZ MONTES LLORD which you have responded to says Kildare.

Happy to converse further here of off line.

John Cherry
