John and Henry Lawn in Ohio
Posted by: Joani Hamilton Date: October 25, 2000 at 21:27:51

The discussions about Buxton Lawn (by Sheila Mitchell) and William Lawn (by Paul Brooker) were interesting to me because of the names JOHN/HENRY and Maryanne/Eliza/Samuel/John respectively.

I had a gggg grandfather, John Lawn who lived in Darby, Pickaway County, OH. His wife was Sarah and their children were Henry, Rhoda, Samuel, Ellen, and Phebe.
My ggg grandfather (John Lawn's son), Henry Lawn married Anny Deyo. Henry and Anny's children were MARY ANN, ELIZABETH, ELIZA, and Sarah Ellen. The names Sarah and Ellen probably came from Henry's mother, Sarah, and sister, Ellen.
I'm trying to determine John Lawn's parentage. He was said to have been born in Virginia about 1787.

Sincerely,

Joani H.
