Ed: Thank you for your interesting reply.
Mary Eliza Lawn Porter married John Chauncey Hampson. He and Charles K. Porter lived in Carrollton, which they helped
incorporate, and served as the first mayor. He was the Superintendant and chief engineer of the New Orleans-Carrollton railroad, which still runs from Down town New
Orleans to Carrollton (a trolley now which uses the same
tracks) An interesting family we have.

Do you happen to know of a JARVIS in the family? My father
was DALTON JARVIS CANTEY PORTER, we know where the Dalton,
and CANTEY came from..and would like to know about the
Jarvis......There are so many Porters, I'm not sure we
will ever find out which Porter belonged to Charles K.

Thanks.....Do you have the book....Buxton Laawn & Mary Dawson...List of their descendants and of Members of the Families with which they are allied & connected....1st Edition, New Orleans...1875 by Thomas Layton M.D.P.?
....Selma
